Universal Avionics (UA), an Elbit Systems company, has unveiled a new, complete flight deck specifically designed to support helicopter mission execution at night and during challenging weather conditions.
UA’s CEO, Paul DeHerrera, and Elbit System’s VP of commercial aviation, Dror Yahav, will present the new InSight Display System for helicopters and the Heli-ClearVision Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) during an in-booth press conference on March 5 at 1:30 p.m. (EST) during HAI Heli-Expo 2019.
“By combining the latest, state-of-the-art InSight Display System solution and revolutionary Heli-ClearVision SkyVis Helmet-Mounted Display or SkyLens Head-Wearable Display, all supported by high-quality Enhanced Vision System Sensors, pilots can overcome harsh conditions while safely completing the mission,” said Yahav.
“The overall solution offers emergency medical services operation, law enforcement, and search-and-rescue operators a new level of operability while enhancing the safety of the crew and passengers,” he added.
A fully interactive InSight Display System + Heli-ClearVision EFVS demonstration rig will be available at UA’s booth, C4028, throughout Heli-Expo. Dual Heli-ClearVision EFVS with SkyLens HWD and SkyVis HMD will also be interfaced to the InSight Display System, demonstrating all functionality.
The demonstration will feature unique scenarios such as creation of a “mark on target” waypoint using Heli-ClearVision’s Line of Sight cursor function supporting life-saving missions.
