Global tracking service provider TracPlus has been approved to offer Iridium push-to-talk (PTT) capability to its existing and new customers.

Iridium PTT leverages Iridium’s constellation of low-earth orbit satellites to provide push-to-talk “walkie-talkie” communications using Iridium satellite phones and the Flightcell DZMx, as well as traditional point-to-point satellite voice calls. This offering makes TracPlus the first tracking service provider globally to offer tracking, messaging, voice and PTT capabilities for owners of the Flightcell DZMx.

TracPlus has also recently announced an aggressive new pricing model supporting new Cellular IP capabilities of the DZMx.

“We are proud to support new innovations from both Flightcell International and Iridium, and being able to offer PTT marks a significant step forward in the range of services and capabilities that we can offer our customers around the world as a single source provider,” said TracPlus chief operating officer Chris Hinch.
