LORD Sensing MicroStrain, a leader in developing embedded sensing systems, is extending the standard warranty of its award-winning 3DM-GX5 sensor family from one year to three years.
The GX5 inertial sensors are LORD Corporation’s fifth generation of high performance industrial grade micro-electro mechanical system (MEMS) technology sensors.
According to Steve Mundell, engineering leader at LORD Sensing, the GX series has a long history of excellent reliability.
“We want our customers to have peace of mind and confidence that when they select a GX5 inertial sensor they are getting best-in-class quality as well as small size and outstanding performance,” said Mundell.
The GX5 portfolio includes inertial measurement units (IMUs), vertical reference (VR) units, attitude and heading reference systems (AHRS), and GNSS-aided navigation systems.
“Every GX5 features extremely stable and low-noise gyros and accelerometers and is fully calibrated and temperature compensated by our proprietary third generation robotic calibration equipment. We have optimized these sensors for real-world conditions to maintain reliability and withstand high variations in temperature and shock,” added Mundell.
Each model shares the same software and protocol, allowing customers to move up and down the product line where they need varying levels of precision with MEMS Inertial Sensors or GNSS.
