Heli-Expo Seminar to Take the Mystery out of Aviation Law for Pilots

Noted aviation attorney, Jon Kettles, will present an educational seminar entitled “Aviation Law: What Pilots Need to Know” on Tuesday, March 3, 1:00 – 2:00 PM in Room 320A and Wednesday, March 4, 8:30-9:30 AM in Room 320B at the Orange County Convention Center during this year’s annual HAI Heli-Expo Tradeshow and Exposition.
 
This is an opportunity for pilots to learn about the legal system and the legal standards applicable to helicopter flight operations from an experienced aviation lawyer.  Jon Kettles is a dual-rated ATP/CFII attorney and aerospace engineer with over 20 years of experience investigating accidents uncovering what happened and why it happened in order to hold the responsible parties accountable. Kettles will pull back the curtain to expose some common myths while explaining what pilots need to know.
 
The presentation with also cover standards of conduct for pilots, determination of fault following an accident or incident, FAA/NTSB investigation procedures, insurance coverage, legal relationships between pilots and employers and other relevant issues.
 
Kettles will offer a method for pilots and other aviation professionals to follow to simplify their decision making process to reduce the chance of being involved in an accident and reduce their corresponding liability risk.
