Dallas Airmotive Appoints Rick Burgess to Head Materials and Systems

Dallas Airmotive has appointed Rick Burgess as Director of Materials and Systems. Burgess has been serving as the organization’s Director of IT since 2005. In his new role, he will continue to be responsible for the implementation of the company’s enterprise system including its introduction across the Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) organization. In addition, Burgess will take on oversight responsibility for the Materials function including inventory investment and utilization, asset management and general purchasing.

“Rick did an outstanding job integrating our IT systems and managing the implementation of our enterprise system in Dallas,” commented Dallas Airmotive President and CEO Hugh E. McElroy. “We’re relying on him to help us incorporate this system at our other locations. We recognize Rick’s depth of expertise in many areas and we are also calling on him to provide leadership to our Materials group, and continue the great strides we have made in this area in the past few years.”

Burgess started his aviation career at the Millville, NJ operation in 1978 and worked in a multitude of positions including engine shop mechanic, supervisor and engineer. In 1998, Burgess advanced to the position of Director of Operations responsible for Materials, Quality, Engineering and Production. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt who has served as a focal point for process analysis and improvement.
