The Russian air force hopes to receive 30 Ansat-U trainer helicopters by 2020, including six this year. The helicopters will be based at the Sokol aerodrome at the Syzransky Flight Training School.
The Ansat, produced by Kazan Helicopters, is designed to replace the ageing Mil Mi-2. The U-model is a dedicated trainer with full dual avionics and controls and seats for six students.
