The Unmanned Safety Institute (USI), a subsidiary of ARGUS International, Inc., announced it has launched a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 compliant version of its small unmanned aircraft system (sUAS) ground school online course.
This online course prepares aspiring remote pilots to successfully pass the aeronautical knowledge test (AKT) leading to the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC), while also delivering additional ground and flight safety education that is continually ranked as the industry’s best in class. The new course is available online and through USI’s partner network.
This self-paced, 24-hour course is much more than a Part 107 test preparation course. This ground school supplies practical and operational knowledge for remote pilots and consists of eight online modules which meet and exceed the required knowledge areas for the FAA’s RPC AKT: origins and evolution of UAS; robotic aircraft, meteorology and weather elements; FAA Part 107 regulations and compliance; human factors in UAS; crew resource management; making safe decisions; and professionalism.
Unlike memorization-based courses designed to assist passing a test, the USI sUAS ground school will actually prepare new part 107 certificate applicants and refresh part 61 certificate holders with the knowledge foundation needed for a successful career in the UAS sector.

Upon completion of the course, individuals will receive a certificate of training from USI, valid for 24 months, which can be presented to leading aviation insurance providers in exchange for discounted insurance premiums.
