SPAES installs slant console in EC135 helicopter

SPAES GmbH & Co. KG, together with Intercopter, has installed a slant console in an Airbus EC135 for an undisclosed customer. The slant console will allow various devices to be mounted clearly in the cockpit for a better overview of navigation systems

Two Garmin devices were mounted in the cockpit.

“With broadening of the console the devices are more clearly arranged. This allows a highly variable, space-saving and clear installation of the devices. The handling of those installed devices in the cockpit is easier for the pilot,” said Joachim Kies, head of operational business at SPAES.

A European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Minor Change was approved on site of the customer for installation. For that, the necessary installation and verification documents and test protocols were generated. A Part 145 maintenance organization was responsible for the installation of the change.
