Skypro Helicopters LLC, one of the several companies operating under “Skypro” brand, increased its Leonardo AW139 helicopter fleet to four aircraft this August, becoming the largest private operator of AW139 helicopters in Russia. The fourth helicopter was manufactured in Italy, and has a cabin configuration of eight VIP seats. This aircraft joined the existing Skypro Helicopters fleet, which consists of two Russian-built AW139s and another helicopter manufactured in Italy.
The company said the Leonardo AW139 is a modern twin-engine multi-purpose helicopter that fully meets the high standards of style and comfort. This helicopter model has been produced by the Italian-based helicopter manufacturer Leonardo Helicopters since 2004.
The AW139 is equipped with the most spacious cabin and luggage compartment in its class, and its ultra-low vibration and noise level contributes to the highest standard of comfort. The aircraft is equipped with the cutting-edge avionics and navigation system, shock-absorbing landing gear, fuselage and seats, and it is the only helicopter in its class with a full FIPS system, which allows safe use of this helicopter in challenging weather conditions. The AW139 VIP version is the most popular helicopter in the corporate segment.
In 2018, Skypro Helicopters’ technical center was granted the official status of the authorized center for maintenance of Leonardo helicopters, and the existing staff was supplemented by new highly qualified experts trained at the Leonardo academies in Italy and the United States.

Within the framework of the project, the company has already obtained the Russian certificate for line and base maintenance of Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, purchased a full range of necessary equipment, certified its own department for decoding and processing of flight data for this type of aircraft, and obtained a certificate of authorization from the manufacturer. At the moment, work is underway to prepare the company for the certification to service the new flagship Pilatus PC-24.
