Reiser Simulation and Training GmbH (RST) has been named a winner in the Outstanding VR/AR/MR Application category of the 2019 MS&T’s Industry Simulation & Training Awards, which honor best-in-class development initiatives within simulated helicopter training.

MS&T’s review panel assessed each of the 75 submissions against the criteria outlined for each category. The assessment and selection of all finalists was based solely on the qualitative and quantitative data submitted. MS&T invited all subscribers to vote for their favorite finalist.

“We are more than proud of having been rewarded for the exceptional work of our whole team that actually sets the standard for cutting-edge and creative simulation technology,” said Dr. Roman Sperl, CEO of RST. “‘Be innovative’ is our motto and in combination with the agile and flexible ‘Reiser-way’ we meet even the most demanding challenges as set out by our customers and their training needs.”

RST has been awarded winner for its outstanding mixed-reality solution that has recently been deployed in the company’s Airbus H145 Level D full flight simulator at the Norwegian Competence Center Helicopter and qualified by the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority. The unique solution allows the winch operator to look out of the helicopter simulator by means of virtual augmented reality. RST’s mixed-reality device enables the medical crewmember to perform all his mission duties from clearing the rear part of the helicopter when landing in confined areas as well as observing any hand signals given by the rescue man attached to the rope of the helicopter.
