MHM Publishing, publisher of Vertical and Skies magazines, has announced the launch of eVTOL.com, a new online publication devoted to electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and urban air mobility.
The site aims to bring thoughtful, critical reporting and analysis to this emerging space, which has attracted billions of dollars of investment in recent years. According to the Vertical Flight Society’s World eVTOL Aircraft Directory, there are now more than 160 eVTOL aircraft concepts at some stage of development.
“We’ve been covering eVTOL developments through Vertical and Skies, but the market is growing so rapidly it made sense to create a website dedicated to this new sector,” explained MHM Publishing co-owner Mike Reyno. “This will allow us to keep Vertical and Skies focused on their core markets, while bringing the same high editorial standards to a new audience.”
The managing editor of eVTOL.com is Elan Head, the award-winning special projects editor of Vertical. Longtime transportation and technology journalist Eric Adams is a contributing editor, while Vertical editor-in-chief Oliver Johnson is an associate editor for the new site.
“We’re all excited about this dynamic new chapter in aviation,” said Head. “At the same time, the amount of money pouring into this market has encouraged concepts that are dubious, to say the least. We think we can serve a valuable role by providing real, critical journalism on aeromobility, while also celebrating the people and products that are shaping our electric future.”
