Meeker-Airfilm receives certification for R44 and R66 nose mount

Meeker Aviation Services Ltd. announced on Jan. 4 that it has received both a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificate (STC) and a parts manufacturer approval (PMA) for its new Robinson R44 and R66 lightweight nose mount.

The nose mount requires no permanent modifications to the airframe, and it fits over the existing landing light cover.

The maximum payload is limited to 50 pounds, and it is intended for various camera systems, searchlights, lidar, antennae, etc.

European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification will be obtained in early 2018.
