Héli-Union Training Center (HUTC) has been given the opportunity to host and to train pilots from the Cameroonian Armed Forces. Earlier in March, several pilots from the Cameroonian Armed Forces received their pilot licenses at the Héli-Union Training Center, which marked the end of their second training session.
The Cameroonian pilots arrived at HUTC on May 1, 2015. The pilots received an extensive amount of training, including the Theoretical ATPL (H) course with the main objective to train helicopter pilots in order to attain the theoretical knowledge necessary to undertake its professional activity in helicopter industry, commercial pilot license/instrument rating (CPL/IR) courses with multi-crew coordination (MCC), multi-pilot qualification, Bell 206 qualification, Airbus AS365 N3 qualification, mountain flying and over-the-sea flying courses.
Héli-Union Training Center also announced that one of the successfully-trained pilots, Sorel Stephanie Guemkam Fopossi is the first woman pilot within the Cameroonian Air Force and the first woman pilot who received ab-Initio training at the Héli-Union Training Center.
