Helicopter New York City hosts Bagels 4 the Hungry charity

Helicopter New York City Press Release | July 2, 2015

Estimated reading time 1 minute, 51 seconds.

Helicopter New York City, a helicopter tour company based out of New York, funds the distribution of food, drink and community well being to the homeless in midtown Manhattan each weekend.
Helicopter New York City has been involved in the Bagels 4 the Hungry initiative since its inception over three years ago. Bagels 4 the Hungry was started as a community outreach by Carmen Canas in an effort to connect to the homeless, and often times, helpless residents of Midtown Manhattan.
Each week, 50 to 150 people are fed sandwiches, fruit and juice or other drinks. Many homeless and impoverished people have come to rely on the weekly interaction and sense of community the program supplies. Many people are served week after week.
“We know that a single sandwich on Friday or Saturday cannot sustain a person all week. However, the emotional and spiritual nourishment that the program provides is what is important,” said Matthew Day, president of Helicopter New York City. “In some cases, the short interaction from Carmen, and those that serve Bagels 4 the Hungry on the weekend, becomes the most reliable part of a homeless person’s week.”
Helicopter New York City offers exhilarating tours throughout New York City, visiting some of New York’s most famous attractions including Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Ground Zero, and the Empire State Building with many more attractions to come.
