Heli-One Norway, a leading provider of helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, is opening a new 3,500 square foot state-of-the-art blade repair and overhaul shop at its facility in Stavanger, Norway.

This shop has the capability to carry out repair and overhaul for Airbus AS332, H225, AS350/355; and Sikorsky S-92 blades. This new expanded space with climate-controlled environments will improve turnaround times on inspection and repair work for customers.

The shop is due to be in full operation by the end of October.

The new workshop features several specialized environments that will enable teams to run multiple inspections and repair projects simultaneously, resulting in a quicker turnaround time. These environments include a preparation room for inspections, a dedicated paint booth for blade painting, and a clean room for all dust-free operations. The clean room will also be humidity-controlled, allowing work to be performed year-round.

The increased space and new rooms allow technicians to run these inspections and repair projects with a priority on safety and quality. The shop continues to expand its capabilities with the recent addition of Airbus AS350/355 blade service. The team is approved to provide blade service for: AS350/355, AS332 & H225, and Sikorsky S-92 (limited).

“Our team is excited to utilize this new space and deliver quality blade service to customers quicker,” said Eddie Lane, president of Heli-One. “Blade inspection and repair is a unique and specialized skill and offering. The team has worked hard to maintain an exceptional level of service, and they continue to take the initiative to investigate new capabilities and find efficiencies to provide better and faster service to customers.”

Heli-One Norway is an EASA Part 145-approved facility with Level D (Depot) capability on BOV repairs and Level I+ (Intermediate) capability on COV repairs.

The shop has an average turnaround time on AS332/H225 blades of two to three weeks and has processed more than 100 blades in the last four years.
