Heli-One Press Release | August 2, 2017

Estimated reading time 2 minutes, 8 seconds.

Heli-One, a leading provider of helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, has announced that Eddie Lane has been appointed as its new president. Lane had previously been acting as interim president since March of this year.

Lane initially joined CHC Helicopter, Heli-One’s parent company, as the finance director for Norwegian operations before transitioning to Heli-One as the general manager of Norwegian operations in 2014. In 2016, Lane was named general manager of European operations, overseeing the Stavanger, Norway, and Rzeszow, Poland, facilities.

During his time with Heli-One he has demonstrated a track record of streamlining operations in conjunction with championing investment in growth areas.

“It is a challenging time for our industry in some sectors due to the ongoing low oil price — but we have an exceptionally agile team and extensive capabilities that allow us to grow in new sectors and new geographies,” said Lane. “We are leaders in helicopter MRO and we continue to develop cost- and time-saving solutions for our customers worldwide. Our team’s standards of quality and safety are second-to-none and we drive innovation in every area of our business. I’m excited to work with our global leadership team to continue Heli-One’s growth.”

“Eddie brings a solid understanding of Heli-One’s business and its customer base, and has demonstrated strong leadership within the organization during his tenure,” said Karl Fessenden, president and CEO, CHC Helicopter. “I look forward to working with Eddie and the Heli-One leadership team, supporting them with the resources and investment needed to help grow Heli-One.”

Lane has previously held various leadership roles in consumer goods, healthcare and consulting companies in a number of countries. He has a bachelor’s degree in commerce and two postgraduate honors degrees in finance and accounting from the University of Natal, Durban, South Africa, in addition to a postgraduate diploma from Manchester Business School International.

Lane will continue to be based in Stavanger, Norway, where he resides with his family.
