Guidance Aviation approved to provide training for international students

Guidance Aviation Press Release | December 9, 2016

Estimated reading time 1 minute, 42 seconds.

Guidance Aviation has trained hundreds of professional helicopter pilots since 1998. Guidance is now approved by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the student and exchange visitor program to issue I-20s for an M-1 visa for qualifying students.

The student and exchange visitor program (SEVP) is the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program that administers the student and exchange visitor information system (SEVIS).

It ensures that government agencies have essential data related to nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors to preserve national security. SEVP provides approval and oversight to schools authorized to enroll F and M nonimmigrant students and gives guidance to both schools and students about the requirements for maintaining their status.

International students who meet the required criteria may submit their documents for approval. Once approved, a prospective student will be issued an I-20 application for an M-1 Visa. For more information on how the process works, visit Guidance Aviation’s International student information page.

Guidance Aviation has multiple flight operations in Arizona and Louisiana. Guidance is Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved under Part 141, 135, and 133. All Guidance pilots and aircraft meet rigorous safety standards established by the FAA. Guidance offers flight instruction and commercial helicopter services from construction deliveries to/from isolated locations, airport shuttles, executive transportation, scenic tours, and corporate hospitality events.

Through its collegiate partners, graduates earn their Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS), Aviation Technology – Helicopter Pilot Operations, and the necessary FAA ratings and certificates (PPL through CFI-I) to become professional helicopter pilots.
