DART introduces Vertical Capture Transport System

DART Aerospace Press Release | November 15, 2015

Estimated reading time 1 minute, 29 seconds.

DART Aerospace has announced the launch of a new hands-free pickup solution for long-line operations called the Vertical Capture Transport (VCT) System. Working closely with utility operators, DART has designed an innovative remote cargo hook to prevent recurring ground crew injuries. The new VCT Remote Cargo Hook ensures added safety and reduced operational costs for utility operators, all while maximizing multi-pickup operations.
The innovative VCT System prevents injuries during long line operations by removing the need to have ground support personnel manually attach the remote cargo hook to a ground load. A DART cargo lifting adaptor is secured to the ground cargo then, with the help of the conic locators, the pilot lowers the VCT remote hook onto the cargo adaptor. Once in contact with the adaptor the hook is mechanically engaged by a pushrod, clamping the load without any effort on the ground. After transport, the load is released by the pilot using an electrical release device built into the remote hook.
More information about the new DART VCT Remote Cargo Hook and other external loads products can be found on the DART Aerospace website.
