The UH-60 Black Hawk is part of the Mexican Federal Police fleet and sustained battle damage, including bullet holes that resulted in extensive damage to its structure. The aircraft’s engines were removed and sent to England’s H+S Aviation for inspection and repair, while Dangle Aviation completed the structural work.

“When a bullet passes through a helicopter, it can cause considerable hidden damage,” TAI-GLOBAL Group vice president Sergio Gonzalez said. “Our technicians needed to completely disassemble the aircraft to find all the damage, in order to repair it properly.”

The new contract won by Dangle Aviation is out of Jalisco, Mexico, and it will be serviced at Ryan Airfield in Tucson, Arizona. The contract is to upgrade a Sikorsky S-70i with the installation of a rescue hoist and cargo hook.

“It is with great pride that we welcome an increasing number of international contracts,” Gonzales said. “The Dangle Aviation team strives to provide best-in-class service to all of its customers.”
