Air Methods Corporation, a global leader in emergency air medical services, has partnered with Oceania Aviation in New Zealand to bring its extensive BK117 parts inventory to market.
Air Methods operates more than 450 aircraft in the U.S. and has operated and owned more than 70 BK117A3/A4/B1/B2 aircraft. The company has subsequently reduced its fleet number of these aircraft, and as a recognized sales and MRO leader in the industry, Oceania Aviation was the choice to market and sell Air Methods BK117 surplus stock.
Troy Atkinson, director of aircraft cost management at Air Methods, said, “This relationship enables us to focus on our core business of saving lives, and we entrust Oceania Aviation with our BK117 parts inventory to do what they do best, the leader in marketing and selling aviation products in New Zealand.”
With nine locations across New Zealand and a large customer base around the world, it was a natural step for Oceania Aviation. This new collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to providing premier support to BK117 operators, and its position in the industry is well placed with a diverse list of BK117 contacts.
Stephen Green of Oceania Aviation said: “Air Methods is an air medical leader, and I have had the pleasure of working with the Air Methods team for seven years now on BK117 aircraft and parts sales. I am very pleased to be marketing their extensive list of BK117 parts, further defining our true partnership rather than being just a ‘vendor.’
“Despite our location on the global stage, our reach has no limits, and our experience makes us a key player in the market. When it comes to bringing products to the global market, here at Oceania Aviation our collaborative sales, parts, MRO and marketing teams allow us to offer comprehensive services and strategies. And this is exactly what we are doing for the Air Methods BK117 parts,” Green added.
The BK117 is a tried and true multi-purpose machine with no plans for early retirement, and this partnership marks a significant step with the focus firmly on the future to fuel growth, and also strengthens the BK117 market.
This aircraft type offers exceptional versatility and performance and continues to be a superb choice for the EMS / SAR or utility helicopter industries.
