Engineering the future, today

Bullseye Vertical Mapping Solutions is the doing-business-as (DBA) identity of St. Louis Helicopter, LLC. Bullseye originally started as a laser mapping supplier, quickly moving into the engineering and supplemental type certificate (STC) business after successfully completing many STCs for specialized light detection and ranging (LiDAR) mounting applications for helicopters and airplanes.

Bullseye Vertical Mapping Solutions combines small-company maneuverability with big-company impact.

Bullseye said it recently became the first company in history to certify a main ship lithium-ion battery with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for helicopter use, a project it undertook on behalf of battery maker True Blue Power. Bullseye’s philosophy is that there is no project too difficult.

“We enjoy challenges and pushing new technology,” said Edward Allen, director of engineering for Bullseye.

When Bullseye approached True Blue Power about certifying its lithium-ion battery, the company was excited to pair with Bullseye.

“We were very pleased with the partnership provided by Bullseye in securing the first-ever lithium-ion main ship battery STC for helicopter applications,” said Rick Slater, director of True Blue Power. “Their experience and professionalism was key in our effort to bring this revolutionary technology to the rotorcraft market. I can’t say enough about their responsiveness, agility, technical knowledge, and understanding of the FAA certification process.”

Bullseye offers solutions from turn-key STCs to engineering and related support.

“We use Bullseye for some outside engineering support and we couldn’t be more pleased with their expertise in helicopters,” said David LoPresti, vice president of LoPresti Aviation. “We would proudly recommend Bullseye for a strong STC partner.”
