Find your future with us. Boeing Defense, Space and Security, Vertical Lift, Attack Division, is seeking a Rotor Systems Engineering Manager (Level K) to lead our team in Mesa, Arizona. The Rotors Engineering team performs problem resolution in every part of the product life cycle, from conceptual design to support of products out of production, but still in aircraft fleet. Our organization engineers the Apache composite rotor blade, as well as a new high performance composite main rotor blade for the AH-6 little bird helicopter, and many other products. The military rotorcraft is a community, it is a tightly bound community: from pilots to Army generals, to Boeing leaders, to Boeing engineers and technicians. Position Overview:The Rotor Systems Engineering Manager will lead high-performing teams that are immersed in development projects in rotor system design and rotor system manufacturing engineering. This position will manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical Structural Engineering. As a member of our team, you will develop and execute business plans, policies and procedures and develop organizational and technical strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience with acquiring resources, providing technical management of suppliers and leading process improvements. This role will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Primary Responsibilities:Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical Structural Engineering in the specialized field of helicopter rotor systems.Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.Manages, develops and motivates employees. This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program.7 years or more of experience working in a mechanical, structural, production, analysis, manufacturing or material science engineering role.3 years or more of experience working with internal and external customers and suppliers. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):3 years or more of experience leading engineering teams.3 years or more of experience working with rotor systems design, or rotor system manufacturing engineering, or drive system design, or drive system manufacturing engineering.Experience with supplier engagement and manufacturing process and operations.Strong technical communication skills involving customer relationships, internal teaming, and building consensus within teams. Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
