BACKGROUND PROFILE:Education: Must hold a high school diploma. Experience: Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation-related or other work experience related to or of similar nature to the main responsibilities.Skills, knowledge and abilities: Must have knowledge of aviation practices sufficient to plan and safely assist helicopter operations including flight permits. Knowledge of applicable FAA regulations and procedures or have the ability to rapidly interpret regulations applicable to aviation operations. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other ASU employees and various civil aviation authorities’ personnel. Skill in developing techniques and methodologies to resolve unprecedented problems or situations. Able to work well under pressure in fast-paced, aviation environment while exercising sound judgment at all times. Able to assist the chief pilot. Language / Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively (reading, writing, and speaking) in the English language. Appearance and Conduct: Must present a neat and proper appearance strictly following the ASU dress and conduct code.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Salary/Compensation: Salary and compensation will be competitive in the aviation industry, based upon the experience and skills of the individual selected.Education: Preferred bachelor’s degree in aviation management or equivalent professional aviation or management experience.Aviation Experience: Experience in preparing, and filing FAA flight plans and international flight permits. Preference will be given for commercial pilot certificate.Language: Must be English proficient, and preference will be given to Spanish proficency, Work environment: Office.
