Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and Experience: Must have at least 15 years of experience in all phases of H-47 helicopter maintenance and systems troubleshooting, including 10 years of prior H-47 Technical Inspector experience. Must be an expert in the use of ULLS-A(E), US Army Technical Manuals/IETMs, Technical Bulletins, DA 2408 series forms and records, and DA PAM 738-751, US Army weight and balance certified.Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or government/military regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as torque requirements, proportions, TBO calculations, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with an assortment of variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual must be competent in using Microsoft Office software, as well as US Army specific applications. Proficient in AWBS weight and balance program. Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work effectively with others and contribute in a team environment. Must be able to perform independently when required and make decisions based on available information combined with experience.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, talk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crawl or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions such as extreme cold and heat, work near moving mechanical parts and vibration and work in high, precarious places. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and work with explosives. The noise level in the work environment falls within acceptable limits of OSHA guidelines. EOE
