Provides direct supervision, planning, management, oversight and responsibility for the Airworthiness Department and Records Department.Supervisory responsibility of the Records Department Manager and Airworthiness SpecialistsManaging the development of and revisions to the Company AAIP Program, MEL Program, Aircraft Conformity Process, and inspection requirements based on Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Supplemental Type Certificates or other approved data for inclusion in the Company AAIP.Managing the development, revision process and maintain the Master Inspection Lists, Configuration Control Documents, Weight and Balance Charts, Equipment Lists, Aircraft Conformity Book, and Site Binder.Monitor new and recurring FAA Airworthiness Directives and manufacturer's Service Bulletins; interpret and disseminate complex technical data for proper corrective actions by field technicians.Coordinating company manual revision approvals through the Director of Maintenance, while working closely with FAA Airworthiness Inspectors.Managing and assisting in the performance of 14 CFR 135 conformity inspections of Company aircraft.Ensures compliance with FARs, maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives and service bulletins/service letters.Responsible for ensuring that maintenance documents/records are organized and protected to meet the needs of MAI and to ensure that the business conducted is in accordance with FAA regulations.Managing and assisting in Aircraft Acceptance Inspections, Type Certificate Data Sheet Conformity Inspections, Supplemental Type Certificate Conformity Inspections, FAA Form 337 Conformity Inspections and physical inventory of the aircraft.Managing the revision process of the Aircraft Status Report to reflect changes stemming from Airworthiness Directives, Manufacturer's Bulletins, revisions or other applicable data.Responsible for management of the fleet Technical Records Database.Planning, organizing, and directing all Records Department functions.Ensuring that all Company aircraft records are collected, reviewed, documented and stored as required by Company GMM, and Company policy. Developing and implementing procedures for the following:Efficient and accurate collection, sorting, reviewing, analyzing, organizing, updating, and maintaining of all aircraft records documentation to include but not limited to aircraft historical records, component historical records, aircraft logbooks, FAA Form 337's, ICAs, parts tags, inspection checklists, FAA Form 8130-3s, Status Sheet Change Forms and all other associated aircraft records documentation.Creating, updating, correcting and accurately maintaining Maintenance Requirements in the Company technical records database.Communicating and correcting time, cycle, calendar, DMR, aircraft logbook, parts tag or other aircraft records documentation errors discovered.Establishing a filing system for component historical records not presently installed on fleet aircraft.Controlling and tracking the removal and return of any aircraft records from the Records Office.AD, ASB and SB compliance tracking.Management and oversight of all company publications.Other duties as assigned. Airworthiness Manager Minimum Preferred QualificationsCurrent FAA Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic Certificate, Inspection Authorization a plus.Honesty, integrity and a commitment to maintaining safe compliant aircraft.Detail oriented. Self-Starter. Team player.Strong knowledge of 14 CFR regulations applicable to the maintenance of aircraft operated on a Part 135 air carrier certificate.Strong knowledge of managing aircraft records, AAIP's, MEL's, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Weight and Balance, Equipment Lists and Major Alteration/Repair processes and data.Previous management or supervisory experience relevant to the role.Five years relevant experience with a Part 135 air carrier preferably in a quality assurance role.Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Airworthiness Manager Preferred QualificationsAll of the above qualifications and these additional qualifications:Five years of management or supervisory experience relevant to the role.Ten years relevant of experience with a Part 135 air carrier in a quality assurance role.Model specific experience on most or all of Metro Aviation's fleet type. Physical/Work Environment:While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
