SkyQuest experts and professionals work behind the scenes to ensure smooth and continuous operations out of Hill Air Force Base.AIRCRAFT WorkerThe Aircraft Worker services aircraft, performing any combination of the following tasks, directs incoming and outgoing aircraft near terminal or flight line parking area to assist pilot's maneuvering of the aircraft on ground, using hand or light signals or drives light truck with guiding sign, and secures aircraft in parking position with blocks, stakes, and tie downs. Performs pre-flight/post-flight/safe-for-maintenance inspections.The Aircraft Worker does the following tasks: Connects/disconnects service vehicles to replenish fuel; operates oil, water, waste system chemicals (if available), oxygen (gaseous or liquid), hydraulic fluid, and may remove waste, enters in the maintenance records description of the servicing performed, checks for fuel contamination by draining sumps and fuel drains; operates ground support equipment such as electrical power supply; examines tires for specified air pressure and condition, assists in jacking and towing aircraft, removes and replaces defective tires, positions and removes boarding platforms to unload or load aircraft passengers, unloads and loads luggage and cargo, using tow truck with luggage carts, and cleans exterior or interior of aircraft, using portable platform ladders, brushes, rags, water hose, and vacuum. The Aircraft Worker may de-ice aircraft wings and fuselage, install drag chutes or retrieve them and send them to parachute shop for repacking.Duties include but are not limited to:·Direct aircraft into and out of parking areas utilizing proper hand and arm signals·Furnish ground handling services and assistance to include aircraft fire guard, parking guides and assistance, mooring, repositioning, and similar preflight and post-flight ground handling·Utilize ground support equipment (pneumatic compressors, self-generating nitrogen carts, high/low pressure pneumatic carts, light carts, etc.) to assist with servicing and loading/unloading aircraft·Maintains grounding devices, chocks, electrical power units, maintenance stands, boarding ladders, air starting units, air compressors, generators, tow-bars, auxiliary power units, fire bottles, and support equipment assigned to the airfield·Positions and operates all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) in regard to aircraft. Operates fire extinguishers, maintenance stands, ground power units both AC and DC, and Air start carts.·Inspects runways, taxiways, and aircraft parking areas for potential foreign object damage (FOD) and police of same·Operate vehicular mounted and portable two-way radios to coordinate with Transient Alert Dispatch, Air Traffic Control tower, Airfield Base Operations concerning air traffic information·Refuel/defuel at various locations·Ensure aircraft is secured, positions the tanker, ensures aircraft and truck are properly grounded and conducts aircraft refueling operations·Maintain refueling area and facilities in a high state of cleanliness and safety. Inspect fuel truck and aircraft parking area daily for spillage, leaks and foreign objects·Perform work involved in the operation of fuel distribution and refueling system that are to operate pumps and valves in the fuel pits Qualifications·Must maintain a neat appearance and exercise customer relation skills that reinforce good order and discipline recognized on any military installation.·Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.·HS diploma REQUIRED; DD214 with Honorable Discharge in lieu of HS diploma acceptable·Must pass criminal, credit background check ·Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance before first day of employment·Must possess a valid state driver’s license in order to obtain a US Government issued and airfield driver’s license. Commercial driver license (CDL) with HAZMAT endorsement will be favored.·Prefer a minimum of 2 years flight line, ground handling, or FAA equivalent with required certifications.·Must meet all training, qualifications, and certification requirements (Federal, DoD, State, and local) in performance of the job duties.Shift: Must be available 24/7, any shift, full-time or part-time Accommodations are case by case.
