Columbia Helicopters is pleased to announce that Todd Petersen has been named as Vice President of Marketing for the company. On July 1, he will succeed Jon Lazzaretti who will continue to work for the company on special projects.

As Vice President of Marketing, Petersen will oversee the promotion of the company’s operational services as well as Columbia’s expanding maintenance services. He will oversee a staff of 11 people working in those two areas.

“Todd is the perfect fit for this position,” said Mike Fahey, President of Columbia Helicopters.

“Todd has worked in many positions within our company, so he brings a wealth of experience to the table. He also has great business acumen, and I know that he will be a great asset as the company continues to grow.”

Petersen came to work for Columbia Helicopters in March 1972 as a pilot. He served as Project Manager on various logging operations, lead pilot on oil operations in Peru and Sudan,
Project Manager in Papua New Guinea and most recently, as a Marketing Representative.

In that capacity he has been involved in selling Columbia’s services in all the non-logging markets we serve. He has also worked as Project Manager on construction projects and served as liaison with the government on operational contracts, and as Columbia’s primary coordinator for stream restoration projects across the Western United States.

Lazzaretti will act as special assistant to Petersen, and serve as Senior Marketing Representative primarily for international petroleum projects. He will maintain an office at the company’s headquarters near Portland, Oregon, but will also telecommute from his home in the Southwestern U.S. He came to work for Columbia Helicopters in 1972 joining the growing helilogging operation. He served as project manager on several logging jobs, then as PM on various overseas projects in Peru, Saudi Arabia, and Papua New Guinea. He also headed the company’s venture into offshore work in the Gulf of Mexico in 1979. He has served as Vice President of Marketing since 1985.
