Helicentre Aviation Academy has taken delivery of the first U.K.-bound Guimbal Cabri G2 of 2016.
The new aircraft, registered G-FICH, departed the Hélicoptères Guimbal’s factory in Marseille and was flown back to Helicentre’s Midlands-based facility by one of its company pilots. The aircraft is painted in the academy’s corporate silver-grey colour scheme and will be utilized predominantly for flight instructor courses and commercial pilot training, as well as ab-initio training on its BSc (Hons) degree program, a joint initiative with Middlesex University.
This latest fleet addition is Helicentre Aviation Academy’s third purchase of brand new Cabri G2 airframes, and the first of four scheduled for delivery in 2016. The academy is the U.K.’s leading provider of “ab-initio to flight instructor” training on the Cabri G2 and is the largest U.K. operator of the type with three owned, two leased, and three more on order.
The versatility and comfort of the two-seat training helicopter combined with the flexibility of the academy’s modern fleet provides trainee pilots with a great training experience and an expeditious route to working as a professional helicopter pilot.
Helicentre Aviation Academy will be showcasing its Cabri G2 fleet on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. at its Open Day at Leicester Airport.
Free career advice will be available to prospective students, as well as the chance to take an introductory flying lesson in the Cabri G2 (subject to availability). Attendees will also have the opportunity to apply for the company’s very successful scholarship Program, which has already provided over £250,000 worth of funding to 10 trainee pilots.
