The Vertical Photo Contest is back for its second year, and better than ever. We're giving away more than $3,500 in cash, plus one grand-prize winner will have his or her photo published on the cover of the December-January issue of Vertical.

Once again, the contest is open to any photographer in the world — amateur or professional, civilian or military. You can enter photos in three categories: helicopters in action, people and helicopters, and helicopters in the field.

Our goals are simple: to showcase the best of an amazing industry, and to give the industry's best photographers the exposure they deserve.

A Message from

We believe in the importance of supporting the helicopter community and encouraging the use of helicopters in a variety of operations. This photo contest is an opportunity to share exciting images of helicopters in action with a worldwide audience and to make people aware of what can be accomplished with vertical flight. Sponsoring this contest enables Hillsboro Aviation to continue our 30-year commitment to supporting this industry.

Hillsboro Aviation is proud to have been involved in the helicopter industry since 1980. Our diverse operations include helicopter and airplane flight training, helicopter and airplane charter, aircraft sales, maintenance and avionics services. Hillsboro Aviation’s aircraft fleet includes 70 aircraft ranging from Robinson R-22s and turbine-powered Bell helicopters to single-engine piston and multi-engine turbine airplanes. We are one of the largest combined helicopter and airplane flight training schools in the United States. Hillsboro Aviation is also the U.S. Independent Representative for Bell Helicopter, the northwestern U.S. dealer for Cessna single-engine piston aircraft and a dealer for the Robinson Helicopter Company.
