The Vertical Photo Contest is back for its third year! This year, we're giving away $4,400 in cash, plus one grand-prize winner will have his or her photo published on the cover of the December-January issue of Vertical.

Once again, the contest is open to any photographer in the world — amateur or professional, civilian or military. Don't have high-end camera equipment? Don't worry! This year, recognizing that some of the best photos come from the field, we've introduced a new category: Cell Phone Photos. Now, anyone with a mobile phone camera can compete on the same level as the pros.

As usual, our goals are simple: to showcase the best of an amazing industry, and to give the industry's best photographers the exposure they deserve.

We believe in the importance of supporting the helicopter community and encouraging the use of helicopters in a variety of operations. This photo contest is an opportunity to share exciting images of helicopters in action with a worldwide audience and to make people aware of what can be accomplished with vertical flight. Sponsoring this contest enables Hillsboro Aviation to continue our 31-year commitment to supporting this industry.

Hillsboro Aviation is proud to have been involved in the helicopter industry since 1980. Our diverse operations include helicopter and airplane flight training, helicopter and airplane charter, aircraft sales, parts sales, maintenance and avionics services. Hillsboro Aviation's aircraft fleet includes over 70 aircraft ranging from Robinson R22s and turbine-powered Bell helicopters to single-engine piston and multi-engine turbine airplanes. We are one of the largest combined helicopter and airplane flight training schools in the United States and one of the largest combined helicopter and airplane charter operators in the Northwestern U.S. Hillsboro Aviation is also the U.S. Independent Representative for Bell Helicopter, the northwestern U.S. dealer for Cessna single-engine piston aircraft and a dealer for the Robinson Helicopter Company.
