On August 8th, Heliventure 10 ended successfully after nearly 9000nm of flight in a Robinson R-44 Clipper II (OO-HEY).  The flight between Belgium and Southern California crossed the Atlantic at latitudes close to N70 degrees.  This aviation achievement was undertaken by Paul Bossen and Pete Koekelkoren and was tracked by SkyTrac’s world class portable tracking unit, the DSAT-300. Bossen commented, “The DSAT-300 worked flawlessly.  Not a single position report was missed and a lot of people used it extensively to follow our progress. Even for ourselves, the first thing we did after landing was check SkyWeb.  The DSAT-300 was also a valuable tool for the logistics side of our trip. We didn’t have to inform the logistics people each day about our progress.”
SkyTrac’s DSAT-300 was chosen by Bossen due to its portability, battery life, and ease of use.  In addition to a leading edge hardware product, SkyTrac’s web based asset management, mapping and reporting software -SkyWeb 3.0-was determined to be far superior to others on the market.  SkyTrac VP and Director of Business Development Steve Fuhr commented, “I’ve flown this route twice in a CF-18 so I completely understand the challenges.  There is not much up there and the weather can change rapidly.  Knowing that someone always knows exactly where you are is a priceless advantage.  I’m thrilled this trip was successful and that the DSAT-300 provided the crew with exactly what they expected.”
