Vertical Sponsors Free Pass to CHC Safety & Quality Summit
Wednesday February 22nd 2012 - Vertical Magazine
Vertical Magazine is pleased to announce that it will once again sponsor one attendee at the CHC Safety & Quality Summit, March 26 to 28 at the Westin Bayshore Resort in Vancouver, B.C.
The CHC Safety & Quality Summit attracts top aviation safety experts from around the globe to share best practices and explore the latest in safety management systems, human factors of safety, and creating a safety culture. This year’s Summit will explore the theme “Improving Safety Culture Through Talent, Training and Trust,” and will feature the keynote speaker Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger III, who gained fame after he successfully ditched U.S. Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River on Jan. 15, 2009. Other featured speakers include Stephen M.R. Covey, Tom Casey, and Vertical Magazine columnist Tony Kern.
Vertical will give away one registration valued at $1,099 to a deserving member of the helicopter industry (the winner must provide his or her own lodging and transportation costs). To be considered, applicants should submit a short letter explaining why and how they would benefit from the Summit to elan@verticalmag.com. Deadline for entries is March 5, with the winner announced shortly thereafter.
“This sponsorship is intended to benefit someone who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend the Summit,” explained Vertical editor-in-chief Elan Head. “Preference will be given to newer members of the helicopter industry; however, we’re also looking for someone who is in a position to benefit from the Summit in ways that will have an immediate, tangible impact on industry safety.”
The annual sponsorship is part of Vertical’s longstanding commitment to safety in the helicopter industry.
“As a media sponsor of the CHC Safety & Quality Summit, we believe that the event is an excellent opportunity for members of the aviation community to engage in productive dialogue about how to make the industry better,” said Vertical publisher Mike Reyno. “Sponsoring an attendee is our way of extending that dialogue to the people who can benefit from it the most.”
