Columbia Helicopters Press Release | February 14, 2013

Estimated reading time 2 minutes, 20 seconds.

In a long-planned move, Columbia Helicopters today announced that Stan Wilson would assume the office of president of the company. Mike Fahey remains chief executive officer (CEO) as Columbia Helicopters initiates the first of several actions it said would focus the leadership team on future growth opportunities.
Our companys current global economic outlook has finally offered us the opportunity to implement some changes we have been planning for some time, said Fahey. As we see significant new opportunities for global growth as an organization, we determined the timing is right to align our leadership team for the future growth of Columbia Helicopters. The first step in this transition process was to promote Stan to president, where he will transition over to managing the organization.
The company said as a result of Wilsons day-to-day management focus, Fahey will be spending more time on strategic partnerships, new client development and further exploring strategic growth opportunities.
We couldnt be more proud of Stan, said Nancy Lematta, board chair. He is a true success story and exemplifies the values of the company weve worked so diligently together to build. I am confident that his promotion will allow the company to continue to take advantage of our strategic growth opportunities.
Wilson joined Columbia Helicopters in 1986, and for the past thirteen years held the office of vice president of finance. He has been responsible for the financial, human resources and information systems areas of the organization. He holds an MBA from Portland State University, and a BA in accounting from Brigham Young University.
Fahey was hired as Columbia Helicopters first director of finance in 1975, later becoming vice president of finance. He was named executive vice president in 1998, and president in 1999. He became Columbia Heliciopters’ CEO in 2012.
