Whirly-Girls International, a non-profit, educational, and charitable organization dedicated to advancing women in the helicopter aviation industry, is proud to recognize Monumental Helicopters for their commitment to advancing women in aviation.
Monumental Helicopters has generously agreed to commit additional funds to assist the 2015 Whirly-Girl Helicopter Add-on Scholarship recipient, Nicole Cabana.  The Whirly-Girls Helicopter Add-on Flight Training Scholarship provides $8000 to assist a certified female pilot who intends to work in the helicopter industry, to receive her helicopter add-on rating.
Nicole Cabana is this year’s recipient. Cabana is a King Air pilot for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Silver Spring, Md.  She has chosen Monumental Helicopters to pursue her helicopter rating.  Monumental Helicopters is a full operation company providing not only helicopter flight instruction to the beginner and more advanced pilots, but also offering custom helicopter rides and tours as well as aerial photography/video services of the greater Washington, D.C. area.
The Whirly-Girls Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit, educational, and charitable organization dedicated to advancing women in helicopter aviation. We offer mentorships and scholarships to assist in flight advancement, career development, public appearances, and press releases, and provide women helicopter pilots with a supportive network.  With almost 2000 members, our organization continues to grow as women are becoming increasingly involved with helicopter aviation.
Since 1968, the Whirly-Girls has awarded 273 scholarships.  This year in 2015 we awarded 14 scholarships to well-deserving applicants, and expect to add several more next year.
