At Helicopter Association International’s Heli-Expo 2014, Bell Helicopter gave exhibitors and attendees the opportunity to take an up-close look at a full-size mockup of its new Bell 525 Relentless helicopter.
The new mockup was displayed in a search and rescue (SAR) configuration, featuring recent updates inside the cabin and out. Aside from the SAR configuration on display at Heli-Expo, the Bell 525 can be adapted for missions including VIP, firefighting, and air ambulance.
Vertical had the opportunity to speak with Larry Thimmesch, vice president, commercial programs, about the new updates in the Bell 525, and climb into the cabin to see the new equipment that has been added to accommodate SAR missions. Bell expects the first flight of the Relentless later this year, with two aircraft currently in assembly.
