USMC orders 38 Rolls-Royce engines for V-22 fleet

The U.S. Marine Corps has granted an $87.7-million contract to Rolls-Royce involving an option for 38 AE1107C engines in support of the Bell Boeing V-22 tiltrotor fleet (USMC designation MV-22). Work will be performed in Indianapolis, Ind., and the agreement runs through December 2016. The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
