The UH1 Operators website at www.uh1ops.com is pleased to announce the launching of a new
T53 maintenance page sponsored by Airborne Engines Ltd (AEL).  The new page will cover articles, tips, and information regarding the T53 engine, which is operated by a majority of UH-1 operations. This page, like the existing UH-1 maintenance page, is an informative resource for UH-1 operators who follow the site.
“Our goal is to provide a new resource to UH-1 operators seeking information on maintenance and operations of T53 engines,” states Colin Kilmaster, manager, Engine Sales. “After finding the UH1OPS.com website, we felt this was the perfect platform to share this information with UH-1 operators.”
Airborne Engines Ltd (AEL), established in 1991, first opened its doors in a small warehouse located in Richmond, B.C., Canada. Since its inception, AEL has grown to become a Rolls Royce FIRST Network AMC in support of the M250 platform, as well as long standing Honeywell Service Center for T53 engines. With quality, integrity, and safety as the primary focus at AEL, the company delivers the highest quality of support and service when it comes to engine maintenance, repair and overhaul. With Mean Time Between Removal (MTBR) and average time on wing exceeding the industry average, AEL’s team members are proud to say they are experts in what they do.
Over the last three years, AEL has undergone significant internal restructuring, expansion of capabilities, investment in spare parts and rotable assets, and tailoring of its business model, all with the emphasis on delivering maximum value to existing and potential customers. Through recruitment of experienced aerospace industry and technical personnel, there is a renewed depth of industry knowledge within Airborne, further enhancing an already technically sound group of dedicated engineers and support staff. Combined with extensive in-house reworks capabilities, including specialized machining, non-destructive testing (NDT), plasma spray, welding, and expanded repair development, in conjunction with the company’s own DER and the OEM, controlling quality, cost, and turn-around time further supports AEL’s value proposition.
LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement have also been introduced to AEL. This philosophy has already shown efficiency advantages in the last 12 months, equating to cost savings and improved turn times for customers. With an increased global outlook, support options customized to the needs of customers, an industry-leading warranty policy, Transport Canada Approved Training Organization (ATO), along with a corporate infrastructure under the M-International banner, the Airborne Team is poised to support the T53 operational community.
Founded in 2014, www.UH1OPS.com was created for UH-1 owners, operators and maintenance personnel dedicated to sharing information regarding maintenance, regulations, and industry issues affecting UH-1 operators. The website offers information beneficial to owners and operators of UH-1 helicopters, including maintenance tips, updates to FAA regulations, vendors for UH-1s, and UH-1 operator contact information. The team behind the website thanks Airborne Engines, Ltd. for supporting its efforts in keeping the UH-1, most successful helicopter ever produced, flying safely.
