Priority 1 Air Rescue, France (SAS), has officially announced that its new SART/TAC facility located in Nîmes France, is now open. This state of the art training facility is housed in a 26,000 square-foot building and employs the latest Virtual Hoist SAR and Aerial Gunnery Synthetic Training Device, coupled Pilot SAR Flight Training Device, Hoist Procedural Tower, Fast-Rope and Rappel Tower, Multi-media Classrooms, and two onsite swimming pools for Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) survival and rescue training programs.

P1AR delivers comprehensive and effective training by integrating new technology into its proven training courses in order to provide the most affordable mission training possible.  Patrick Dennis, P1AR’s senior vice president of training solutions states, “The utilization of our Virtual Hoist SAR simulator and Multi-Aircraft Configurable – Hoist Procedural Training Tower allows P1AR instructors to teach the exact procedures that will be conducted on Airbus Helicopters, Sikorsky, AgustaWestland, or Bell helicopters. Dennis further states, “Rather than conducting solely in-flight practice to train aircrews in SAR, conducting the training with our hoist procedural tower and virtual SAR simulator results in both the pilots and rearcrews achieving greater capability, dramatically saving associated aircraft flight time costs, and it increases the overall safety while training for both basic and advanced missions.” Recently Priority 1 Air Rescue has seen a marked increase for customers requesting aircraft SAR transition training at SART/TAC prior to receiving their new or night/NVG SAR outfitted aircraft.

Programs offered include Inland/Maritime Search and Rescue, SAR aircraft transition training, Military and Law Enforcement Tactical Operations, Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), Night/NVG SAR, and Helicopter Under-Water Egress Training (HUET).

“The creation of SART/TAC France is a natural progression from our success with SART/TAC USA located in Mesa, Arizona. Our new location will not only benefit our OEM and end user customers located within the European Union, but also customers located in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. This makes P1AR a key global destination of choice for advanced SAR and Tactical training,” said Dennis. “We look forward to the continued business and enhanced global reach to satisfy our customers.”
