LORD MicroStrain Sensing Systems – a global leader in developing embedded sensing systems for aerospace and industrial markets – has been awarded a 2014 Best of Sensors Expo Silver Innovation Award for its 3DM-GX4-25 Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) Inertial Sensor.
This marks the eighth straight year (and 13 of the last 14) that LORD MicroStrain has won a Best of Sensors Expo Award. The award was presented by Mat Dirjish, executive editor of Sensors Magazine, at the Sensors Expo & Conference on June 26 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
“We were thrilled to receive so many nominations for this year’s awards on applications and innovations in the world of sensors, and to recognize excellence among engineers,” said Dirjish. “The nominations demonstrated exceptional innovation in engineering, applications, and sensor technology, and we applaud all of the winners and all the hard work they put in.”
LORD MicroStrain’s 3DM-GX4-25 features tri-axial accelerometers, magnetometers, and gyroscopes, plus an onboard Adaptive Kalman Filter and a pressure altimeter. Weighing just 16.5 grams, the GX4-25 is among the smallest and lightest in its class. Sensors Magazine recognized the GX4-25 for its dual processors and 10°/hour gyro bias stability. In addition, it is fully calibrated and temperature-compensated, helping produce high performance under vibration and dynamic conditions.
The 3DM-GX4-25 has applications across a wide variety of industries and disciplines. It is ideally suited for camera and platform stabilization, antenna pointing, autopilot operation in lightweight vehicles, and industrial attitude and position sensing.
