The new online book www.glacierlandings.com is a free training resource for mountain flying. It targets helicopter pilots who want to improve their know- how by mastering the challenges of flying in alpine regions.

  • Method to master the challenges, illustrated with animated graphics that are visualised with Google Earth; 
  • Over 130 Exercises with solutions, based on 35 official Swiss mountain landing sites and illustrated with animated graphics in Google Earth; 
  • Documentation and illustration of 35 official Swiss mountain landing sites with Google Earth, photos und videos. 
The authors: 
  • Guido Brun: born 1951. Fighter pilot and helicopter pilot in the Swiss Army. Captain for Swissair, and instructor for more than 40 years. Founder of a helicopter business, and head of training at the Swiss Helicopter School Association. 
  • Marc Domenig: born 1958. University professor for Computer Science, IT manager and entrepreneur. Hobby pilot.
