Enstrom will provide details regarding the TH180 at HAI’s Heli-Expo in Orlando, Fla. Enstrom Photo
Enstrom Helicopter has reported that its TH180 — a new, two-seat training helicopter based on the F28F — made its first flight Feb. 6. The ground and flight test took about an hour, Enstrom reported, describing the aircraft’s flight speed and maneuvers as “remarkable.”
The goal of the TH180 is to reduce weight, fuel consumption and direct operating costs for the training mission, Enstrom told Vertical last year.
More details about the aircraft’s progress are scheduled to be released on the opening day of Helicopter Association International’s Heli-Expo 2015, March 3-5 in Orlando, Fla. Enstrom plans to have the TH180 on display at Booth 1828, along with video of the flight.
