Rockwell Collins do Brazil is planning to double the size of its facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil. Work on the expansion is expected to begin in 2014.

Rockwell Collins do Brazil has maintained a presence in Brazil for 40 years supporting military and civil aircraft operators and manufacturers with avionics and aircraft system solutions, communications and electronic systems and services. The company’s service center in São José dos Campos has been critical for meeting local customers’ needs, including aircraft manufacturers Embraer and Helibras.

Rockwell Collins do Brazil has increased its employee base in Brazil by 50 percent over the last three years, adding engineers, program managers, service technicians and business development personnel in order to better support customers, partners and programs in Brazil.

Business highlights of Rockwell Collins do Brazil include:

• In February 2014, Rockwell Collins delivered its first “made in Brazil” radio, the HF-9087D airborne radio, to Helibras for the EC 725 helicopter.  In addition, the company is providing testing and repair of high frequency radios in the country.
Rockwell Collins’ Talon radio was selected by the Brazilian Army as the standard airborne communications for its helicopters in 2013.

• Embraer’s selection of Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion integrated flight deck for the KC-390 is bringing some of the most advanced technology in aviation to Brazil, as well as jobs and contributions to local communities. The company recently completed on-time delivery of its Pro Line Fusion flight test software to Embraer for the KC-390.

• FT Sistemas recently selected Rockwell Collins to provide its Micro Inertial Navigation Sensor (INS) for the Horus 100, a hand-launched UAV to be deployed by the Brazilian Armed Forces. Deliveries take place this year.

• The Super Tucano from Embraer, equipped with Rockwell Collins’ communications and navigation systems, is operating throughout Latin America including Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and the Dominican Republic.
Embraer’s new mid-light Legacy 450 and mid-size Legacy 500 executive jets are equipped with Rockwell Collins’ advanced Pro Line Fusion integrated avionics system.

• Latin American airlines utilize Rockwell Collins’ avionics, cabin systems and service solutions, such as Brazil’s TAM and GOL, Chile’s LAN, Mexico’s Aeromexico and Volaris, Panama’s COPA, and Argentina’s Aerolineas and Avianca.
