Aero Design’s Cargo Basket for the Robinson R44 has received European certification under EASA STC 10050758. The installation, available for the left or right hand side, was originally approved under Canadian STC SH10-48 on Oct. 21, 2010, followed by US STC SR022991NY on 30 June 2011.
The simple installation includes hard mount provisions featuring Aero Design’s world renowned quick release system and the 75.3-inch/191.1-cm cargo basket has a sloped front allowing continued access to the cabin doors. The 175-pound/79.2-kg load limit ensures that the usable load equals the added cargo space.
Aero Design president Jason Rekve stated, “All sectors of the helicopter industry have been very receptive to the installation and sales continue to be swift” and company vice president Jeff Clarke says, “The potential the European STC adds for both Aero Design and European R44 operators promises to open up new opportunities in the short and long term future.”
