DRF Air Rescue wins Matrix42 Customer Innovation award

The DRF Air Rescue has won this year’s Customer Innovation Award from the IT company for the category Matrix42 Enterprise Mobility. The award was the mobile solution, which is used to manage all iPhones used in the DRF air rescue and app management. On Nov. 6, the award ceremony was held in Frankfurt under the Matrix42 Customer Day.

Each year, the IT company Matrix42 honors projects and best practice. The DRF air rescue had “the innovative use of the mobile application  demonstrated mainly by the interaction with the rest of the portfolio,” said the jury Matrix42 justified the decision to air rescue organization that has prevailed against 20 applicants.

The DRF Air Rescue has several applications based on the Matrix42 product range in use. This includes for example a solution for managing Tablet PCs (electronic flight bags, or EFBs) that are already on board their ambulance aircraft used and will also be used on board all helicopter. The digital assistants facilitate the crews during their missions not only the weather query and flight planning but also navigation. Furthermore, the non-profit operating air rescue organization uses the entire workspace management solution from Matrix42, which provides a comprehensive workplace management and user support. The IT department on this basis, a self-service portal configured individually. So that employees can create the DRF air rescue, among other disorders with IT applications based on tickets themselves and pursue.

DRF Air Rescue uses 30 stations in Germany and Austria helicopters for emergency rescue and intensive care transport between hospitals, even at eight locations around the clock. About the rescue helicopter, the DRF air rescue leads global transport patients by ambulance with aircraft. Last year, the red and white air rescuers launched a total of 38,180 operations.
