Breeze-Eastern brings rescue hoist improvement to Army Aviation at Mission Solutions Summit

Breeze-Eastern Press Release | March 30, 2015

Estimated reading time 1 minute, 50 seconds.

Breeze-Eastern Corporation, the aerospace industry’s only dedicated hoist and winch specialist, is introducing its advanced concept rescue hoist to the Army Aviation community for the first time at this year’s Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit, March 29 to 31 in Nashville.
A prototype of the MissionView Situational Awareness System will be on display in exhibit 476, and technical experts will be available for briefings and demonstrations throughout the event.
Weighing in at less than 10 pounds, MissionView integrates sensors, a stabilized camera and lighted intelligent hook with tablet computers to provide crew members easy-to-understand real-time streaming video and information critical to the mission. For example, crew members at a glance will see cable payout/direction, hook load, and aircraft/hook height above the ground. Recorded footage and data also remain available for after-action review and training, with additional benefits for maintenance support.
“We are providing a complete picture of the mission so there’s no guesswork or miscommunication,” company president and chief executive officer Brad Pedersen said. Pedersen describes MissionView as “the most significant technology advance since the introduction of the rescue hoist more than 50 years ago.”
Breeze-Eastern’s Tech Works advanced innovation and new product development organization is completing initial MissionView development and is on track to flight test and begin qualification in the next several months. The system was developed with customer input and is part of Breeze-Eastern’s plan to reimagine and redesign the rescue hoist to incorporate modern technology and contribute to safe, successful rescue operations.
