The U.S. Army’s Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Ala. has granted $234.7-million to Boeing involving long lead items to assemble 24 AH-6is that will operate in Saudi Arabia. The AH-6i is based off the MH-6 Little Bird and MD Helicopters 500 series.

The contract also includes spares and ground support equipment (GSE). Boeing received a total of $115-million from Army fiscal year 2014 funds as part of the foreign military sales (FMS) program. The manufacturer plans to build the AH-6i helicopters at its plant in Mesa, Ariz. through the end of 2016.
