Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company, has announced it has made the first Bell 429 Wheeled Landing Gear (WLG) sale in Europe. The aircraft will also be outfitted with the world’s first Bell 429 MAGnificent luxury cabin interior created by Italy-based Mecaer Aviation Group (MAG).

“This is such an exciting day that really speaks to our growing global presence in Europe, and we are thrilled for our Swiss customers,” said Patrick Moulay, vice president of European sales. “The Bell 429WLG’s smooth and quiet ride combined with the elegant Mecaer VVIP interior ensures each passenger can enjoy this high performing aircraft in luxurious style.”

Customers can customize the cabin interior of the Bell 429 MAGnificent to a variety of seating configurations, and choose from a wide range of Italian fabrics, colors and optional equipment. MAG’s specialty custom interior incorporates two proprietary products, a passive noise abatement system called SILENS, and an In-Flight Entertainment Enhanced Lounge (I-FEEL), that provides a fully customized interactive touch screen based entertainment, communication and flight information management system.

“This aircraft reflects a significant milestone for MAG; this aircraft will not only be configured with our luxury interior, but also MAG’s wheeled landing gear system” said co-general manager of Mecaer Aviation Group, Armando Sassoli. “We know this will be the first of many throughout the world and we are very excited about our continued relationship with Bell Helicopter.”
The 429WLG delivers exceptional performance with state-of-the-art single and dual pilot instrument flight rule capabilities. The additional flexibility of the retractable wheeled landing gear makes the Bell 429WLG ideal for both repositioning in limited spaces and situations that require ground taxi, such as positioning closer to fixed-base operators. A fully-integrated glass cockpit with two or three multi-function displays, dual digital autopilot and an integrated electronic data recorder help increase situation awareness and safety margins. The Bell 429 is the first helicopter certified through the MSG-3 process, resulting in reduced maintenance costs for operators.
