Baldwin Aviation, the world’s leading provider of unique, customized and fully-supported safety management and operational efficiency systems for commercial and non-commercial aviation, ground and fixed-base operator and maintenance, repair and overhaul applications, has named Carolyn Marino director of global sales. Marino joins Baldwin after 20 years with Associated Aircraft Group (AAG) in Wappingers Falls, New York.
An experienced sales and marketing executive, Marino was instrumental in the development of Sikorsky’s fractional ownership program after Sikorsky aircraft acquired Associated Aircraft in 1999.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Carolyn to the Baldwin team,” said Don Baldwin, chief executive officer and founder of Baldwin Aviation. “She brings exceptional knowledge of the rotary-wing segment of business aviation and a history of exemplary support and loyal customer relationships built over two decades with an outstanding organization. She definitely extends our contact with the helicopter community.”
A graduate of Berkeley College in White Plains, New York, Marino started with Associated Aircraft Group in June of 1996. Quickly demonstrating obvious talent in promoting the business, Marino assumed the position of fulltime marketing manager, adding sales responsibilities and earning a promotion to director of sales and marketing.
Associated Aircraft Group operates the largest fleet of VIP Sikorsky S-76 helicopters in the Northeast United States and has retained them throughout the years. “I was very privileged to be involved in the Sikorsky Shares program and with our customers over the years,” said Marino. “And, while Baldwin Aviation is a different business model with a focus on safety management systems (SMS) and operational efficiencies rather than helicopter operations, those are aspects of sales and customer relationships that I have dealt with throughout my career.  I am truly excited to be a part of this organization and to be able to provide a service that saves lives.”
“When I decided I wanted to relocate from the Northeast to the South, I definitely wanted to stay in aviation. Baldwin Aviation focuses on safety, which is such a crucial element of aviation, and one that is important to me,” added Marino. “This is a great opportunity for me to utilize my knowledge of SMS.”
As part of AAG’s management team, and a member of the safety committee, Marino was also extensively involved with audits as well as environmental health and safety (EH&S) meetings and audits. She was responsible for the implementation of the company’s SMS and EH&S requirements.
“Additionally, this will allow me to leverage my experience and network to help Baldwin expand its reach even more effectively into the rotary-wing segment,” concluded Marino.
