Airbus Group to exhibit capabilities for Canadian market

Airbus Group will showcase its portfolio of security and defense products for the Canadian market at this year’s CANSEC trade show, which will be held at in Ottawa, Canada, from May 25 to 26, 2016.  
The Airbus Group exhibition stand will include displays from its defense and space and helicopter divisions, as well as its partners MBDA and Eurofighter.
Canada is a key strategic partner for the Airbus Group, with over C$1 billion spent by the group in Canada annually.  The group also employs over 2,000 people, across five primary Canadian sites and indirectly supports a further 17,000 Canadian jobs through its supply chain. 
Airbus Helicopters is the Canadian rotary-wing market leader among law enforcement agencies including prestigious customers such as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), who currently operate a rotary wing fleet of nine of its aircraft. 
Airbus Helicopters, which today provides solutions to 130 armed forces worldwide, will have a strong presence on the exhibition stand. This will include a one-quarter scale model of its UH-72A Lakota multi-mission helicopter, which is used by the U.S. Army for homeland security operations, medical evacuation, passenger/logistics transportation, drug interdiction, and training missions. 
The exhibit will also highlight the capabilities of Airbus Helicopters new lightweight military multi-role H145M helicopter, which recently entered in to service with German Special Forces (KSK Kommando Spezialkräfte). 
The H145M is the military version of the civil H145 that entered service in summer 2014 and recently reached the milestone of 10,000 flying hours in customer operations.   
Airbus Defence and Space will showcase its capabilities across the military aircraft sector, notably the C295W being offered as the proven, low-risk and most Canadian solution for Canada’s fixed-wing search-and-rescue (FWSAR) aircraft requirement, the combat-proven A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport successor to the A310 MRTT in service with the RCAF, and the Eurofighter Typhoon swing-role fighter.
