Oceania Aviation Press Release | July 25, 2014

Estimated reading time 1 minute, 32 seconds.

Oceania Aviation’s Part 148 manufacturing division, Airborne Systems, is pleased to announce that it has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from New Zealand’s Civil Aviation Authority (NZCAA) for its AS350 Bike Rack System. The AS355 STC addition is planned for late August 2014.
The NZCAA STC will ensure Airborne System’s Bike Rack is available for distribution throughout New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific Islands and most of Asia. A Transport Canada validation will be processed in August 2014 for North American customers.
The Airborne Bike Rack System is designed to hold up to six bikes with three on each side. Made of aluminum alloy, bikes are locked into adjustable mounts via an innovative locking system and a secondary safety strap. The mount system can be easily adjusted by the pilot to accommodate any size of mountain bike or road bike. The system weighs only 55 kilograms and can be pilot installed within 60 seconds. Loading can be accomplished in approximately 20 seconds with trained ground crew.
