Helicopter Specialties Announces New Hangar
On Aug. 27, 2009, Helicopter Specialties of Janesville, Wis. broke ground on its new, 28,750-square-foot facility. The new hangar will feature a larger parts/logistics room, larger clean room/overhaul shop, isolated library/training room, complete kitchen/break area with patio, larger avionics shop, larger shop floor featuring in-floor heat, high efficiency lighting and a 10,000-pound adjustable hoist. The second floor will feature an isolated customer area with administrative offices, conference room, storage area and dedicated pilot/crew quarters for a 24/7 operating tenant.
The original hangar will continue to house the paint booth/ paint prep area and machine shop.
Helicopter Specialties has manufacturer's service centers for Bell, Eurocopter, Enstrom and Robinson. They provide custom avionics, custom paint, structural repairs, composite repairs and custom interiors for helicopters: from light piston-engine helicopters to medium twin-turbine models.
